Basically what I want to know is what is the single event (game, or match, or whatever it should be) that had the highest attendance. I don't mean average attendance for the World Cup or for the Olympics or for the Major League Baseball season. I mean the attendance for a single game, and how many people were there? What is the highest attended single sporting event?
That would be in the sport of auto racing and the Indianapolis 500 with an estimated crowd of 400,000. In its heyday it drew this crowd every year, but recently it dipped to 250,00 then this year the infield was overflowing so attendance was back up to 400,00 number.
More then 250,000 permanent reserved seats in permanent stands and room for 100,00 more in the infield.
This year and 2007 Daytona 500 was around 200,000 people.
24 Hour Le Mans in France set a record of around 250,,000 spectators though I doubt that was for the entire 24 hours.
Some of the F1 Grand Prix's also boast 1 day crowds of over 300,000 spectators. What is the highest attended single sporting event?
I think it maybe a Football match in Brazil.
There's a stadium that holds over 200,000. Rock in Rio is held there.
That also makes sense what that guy said about car racing with spectators on the outside and inside of the track. What is the highest attended single sporting event?
