What kind of Canon Camera should i buy for sports event and landscape at the same time?

I have a digital canon camera rebel XTi and i know that is not fast enough for sports event, but at the same time i would like to take pictures of landscape. The Canon 7D is capable of up to 8fps (frames per second) so that should suffice for your sports photography. Since its a "cropped sensor" camera any EF-S lenses you have can be used with it.

For landscape photography the lens is more important. The Canon EF-S 10-22mm f3.5-4.5 USM will give you wide, sweeping landscapes. Just be sure to use a tripod for your landscape photography and understand how to achieve the maximum depth of field. I would agree with what others are saying for the most part, for sports you're best off getting a better lens. I would highly suggest either the Sigma or Canon 70-200 f2.8 (the f/4 will be a tad on the slow side for sports)



For landscapes, the canon 10-22, or the soon-to-be-released sigma 8-16mm.



If you really want a new camera, you basically have to choose between sports and landscapes.

The canon 7D is best for sports, with 8FPS, and a very nice autofocus system.

The canon 5D Mark II would be the only camera to show real improvement for landscapes over what you have, as it has a full frame sensor, allowing you to get wider shots.

The XTi is actually ok for sports, yes there are better cameras, but the camera you have is capable enough IF YOU HAVE THE RIGHT LENS.



Spend your money on a new lens instead. Canons 70-200 f4L would be a good starting point, for a little extra you could get a sigma 70-200 f2.8 EX lens.



Both will really bring your camera to life with fast focusing.



Even a great body with a slow lens is going to be a slow camera.



If you want a new body then the logical upgrade is a 50D or 7D, as these have a far faster buffer.

The only thing you will gain with a T1i or T2i is 5 extra MP, the speed of the AF, the speed of the buffer will be exactly the same, and if you have the same or similar cheap kit lens, this is what is going to hold you back.

The Canon EOS XTi is an alright camera. With good lens, you won't notice any difference if an image was taken with your camera or a professional camera.



I'm guessing you have the 18-55mm lens. Yes, it's not for sports, it's not really fast or sharp but it's good for landscape.
