How would I ask a famous person for sponsorship of a local community event?

The event is a local festival.



We need sponsorship this year to ensure that the event can take place and have heard that there is a famous person who has moved into the area, We'd like to approach said person for sponsorship but don't really know how to go about it.

Find out who that person's agent or representing agency is. Contact them via phone and see how they would like to proceed; either through phone or email or hard copy proposal. The actual celebrity would likely not respond, unless their agency had checked out the event first.
