How much should I plan to pay for event security and crowd control?

I am planning an event for 400 to 600 people. We will be having the event at several different locations (hotel, resturants, malls) and I am concerened that we will have a major crowd control problem (celebrities are involved). I am not worried about people who are registered to attend the event, more that people will show up and try to get in.



I am trying to get an idea of how much it will cost to secure this event.



I am looking for a $ per hr /per person kind of idea. Because the event is still really far away I have not tried to get quotes, just trying to give my boss and myself an idea of what this will cost.

With the amount of details you gave, giving a fair price will be hard.

Do you think you will need traffic control? If so plan on about $25 to $30 per hour for the traffic control types.

For the general security service on location you may need about 15 uniformed people at about $18 to $21 per hour. cost should not be an issue when it comes to hiring decent security .. remember it is your reputation on the line and if the celebrities come so does the media .. as you are holding at different locations your bill will be big as it requires communications .. plans etc etc ...
